The day-night fixture between Ricky Ponting [Images] led World XI and Sourav Ganguly's [Images] Asian XI, to be held in Melbourne on January 10 to raise funds for tsunami victims, will be shown 'live' on Sony TV's MAX channel.

The telecast of the game would commence at 8.40 am IST, according to a media release.

Kunal Dasgupta, the CEO of the channel said, "We are privileged to be able to play our part by airing this extremely important and crucial one-day match on MAX. This will be one of the many initiatives SET India Private Limited is taking up towards relief of victims of the recent tsunami havoc in South East Asia".

ICC [Images] President Ehsan Mani said, "MAX is a valued broadcast partner of the ICC and it is pleasing that it has agreed to telecast this important match at very short notice in the region directly affected by this disaster."

"I hope that this match will help us to raise valuable funds to help the relief effort and I thank MAX for its contribution to the World Cricket Tsunami [Images] Appeal," Mani said.

The match is to feature top cricketers from India, Pakistan, Australia [Images], England [Images], New Zealand [Images], the West Indies [Images], Sri Lanka [Images] and Bangladesh.
