Bangladesh drop Musfiqur for first Test

Medium pace bowler Mushfiqur Rahman has been dropped from the Bangladesh squad for the first Test against Zimbabwe, which starts on Thursday in Chittagong.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board retained all the other players who had played in the recent series against India when it announced a 13-man squad on Monday.

"Left-arm Enamul Haque has been recalled to replace Mushfiqur as we need to strengthen spin attack," chief selector Faruq Ahmed told reporters.

Bangladesh will play two Tests and five one-day internationals against Zimbabwe.

Squad: Habibul Bashar (captain), Khaled Mashud, Rajin Saleh, Nafis Iqbal, Javed Omar, Mohammad Ashraful, Aftab Ahmed, Mohammad Rafique, Mashrafe Mortaza, Tapash Baisya, Talha Jubair, Enamul Haque Junior, Manjural Islam Rana.
