Injured Pollock out of 2nd ODI

All rounder Shaun Pollock [Images] will not return to the South African team for the second one-day international against Zimbabwe in Durban on Sunday, team management said on Saturday.

Pollock, who has a long-term ankle injury, missed the first match of the series in Johannesburg on Friday. Fast bowler Makhaya Ntini [Images] will also miss the game after team management decided to rest him.

Fast bowler Charl Langeveldt, who fractured his hand while batting in his Test debut against England [Images] in Cape Town in January, was likely to be called in.

"It's an opportunity to give Shaun more time to recover, and to bring back Charl after his injury," South Africa's [Images] media manager Gerald De Kock said on Saturday.

De Kock said South Africa would probably rest captain Graeme Smith [Images] for the last match of the series in Port Elizabeth on Wednesday.

South Africa won the first match by 165 runs.
