Heavy dew on the outfield delayed play for the fifth consecutive day in the third and final Test between India and Sri Lanka at the Sardar Patel stadium in Motera, Ahmedabad, on Thursday.

The umpires inspected the outfield at 0930 IST and decided that play will start at 1000 IST.

India need four Lankan wickets to complete a 2-0 victory in the three-match series.

Sri Lanka were reduced to 235 for 6 at the end of fourth day's play after being set a mammoth target of 509 runs.
