TN set Maharashtra 200 to win

Tamil Nadu were all out for 242 in their second innings, setting Maharashtra a victory target of 200 runs, on the third day of the Ranji Trophy Elite Division Group 'A' match in Nashik on Monday.

At close, Maharashtra were six without loss, with Satyajit Satbhai (6) and Dhiraj Jadhav (0) at the crease.

Tamil Nadu started their second innings cautiously, their left handed openers V Shivramkrishnan and Hemant Kumar making a good start.

Shivramkrishnan was caught by Satbhai off Anupam Sanklecha at 40 while left-hander Hemant Kumar played steadily to complete his 50 with seven fours in 218 minutes of 140 balls, before he was caught at slip by Dhiraj Jadhav, also off a Sanklecha delivery at 52.

S Badrinath made a useful contribution of 21 runs before faltering in an attempt to hook Suyash Burkul, S Shriram made 26.

Maharashtra's strike bowlers Burkul took three wickets, while Sanklecha and Sairaj Bahutule took two wickets each.

At tea, Tamil Nadu were 169 for loss of five wickets.

Tamil Nadu captain Hemang Badani was scalped by Burkul on 17, while Dinesh Kartik (14), R Naresh (12) and R Jesuraj 14 (not out) helped team to score a respectable 242.
