Uttar Pradesh make strong reply to Services December 10, 2005 20:30 IST Suresh Raina scored an unbeaten 51 as Uttar Pradesh scored 106 for the loss of two wickets on the second day of their Ranji Trophy Elite Group 'B' match against Services at the K D Singh Babu stadium in Lucknow on Saturday. Raina's 51 came in 98 balls and included five hits to the fence. Replying to Services' first innings of 321, Uttar Pradesh lost opener Joyti Yadav (2) with just six runs on the board. Rohit Prakash (16) soon joined him in the pavilion. - Ranji Trophy 2005-06: Complete coverage Suresh Raina and Rizwan Shamshad then took control of the hosts' innings, adding 69 unbeaten run for the third wicket. Raina (51) and Rijwan (26) were on the crease when bad light forced end of the play. Fazil Mohd. and Arun Sharma took a wicket each for the visitors. Earlier, resuming at the overnight score of 207 for 5, Services' Sarabjit Singh scored 67 and was involved in two crucial stands, of 72-run with A. K. Mohanty (30) for the sixth wicket, and 65-run partnership with Amrinder Singh (33) for the seventh. Leg spinner Piyush Chawla was the most successful bowler for Uttar Pradesh, bagging 5 for 95 while Avinash Yadav took 2 for 87.
