TN labour to 80 for no loss

On yet another truncated day, hosts Tamil Nadu laboured to 80 for no loss at close on the second day of the Elite Group 'A' Ranji Trophy match against Karnataka in Chennai on Saturday.

Play began at 1400 hrs as the outfield was wet due to overnight and early morning rain under the influence of a cyclone.

Resuming at 20 for no loss, Tamil Nadu openers S Vidyut (38 batting, 74 balls, 6x4) and C Hemant Kumar (26 batting, 72 balls, 4x4) continued to deny the visitors any success in the 16.3 overs possible on the second day.

Play was stopped around 1615 hrs due to bad light, before the umpires called it off at 1645 hours.
