Pandit is Maharashtra coach

Mumbai Ranji Trophy coach Chandrakant Pandit has been appointed as the coach of Maharashtra Cricket Association's (MCA) cricket team.

The appointment was approved by MCA's Managing Committee at its meeting held in Pune on Tuesday, MCA president Ajay Shirke said.

MCA's Cricket Director and coach Darren Holder, the Australian who was recently appointed to the post, and former India stumper Pandit would be responsible for the coaching of the senior and other teams of all age-groups of the region, Shirke said.

Col P R V Nair has been appointed as Administrative Manager of the MCA's Ranji Trophy team.

About the selection of players belonging to other regions, like Mumbai's left arm spinner Nilesh Kulkarni to play for Maharashtra's Ranji team, Shirke said that decision has to be taken by the selection committee.
