Aleem Dar returns for fourth Test

August 17, 2005 15:15 IST

Emirates Elite Panel umpire Aleem Dar will replace Billy Bowden as on-field umpire for the fourth Ashes Test at Trent Bridge, the International Cricket Council informed on Wednesday.

Dar missed the second Test of the series to be in Pakistan with his wife following the premature birth of their baby boy.

Bowden-- who replaced Dar in the second Test-- would otherwise have been standing in four consecutive matches during the series. He remains one of the two on-field umpires for the fifth Test along with Rudi Koertzen.

Dar will no longer be standing in the forthcoming ODI matches in Zimbabwe. His scheduled appointments will now be undertaken by South African umpire Ian Howell who is on the Emirates International Panel.
