Sourav Ganguly's [Images] resurrection as skipper of the Indian cricket team was today given the thumbs up by Virender Sehwag [Images] who said he is the "best choice" for the post.

"I think he is the best choice," Sehwag told reporters in New Delhi, to announce the launch of his food court -- 'Sehwag's Favourites'.

The national selectors handed back the captaincy to Ganguly for the tour of Zimbabwe, capping intense speculation over the Bengal southpaw's future both as captain and international cricketer owing to his recent indifferent form with the bat.

"It is not easy to comment on this issue. However, I think whatever the selectors have decided is based on past performance and while taking into account what is best for the team," Sehwag said.

"Ganguly has been the most successful skipper for India, this speaks for itself," the Delhi player said.

Asked to comment on insinuations that there were rifts in the Indian team, the flamboyant opener said, "there is no division in the team. The team is the same, a change in captaincy does not change things much. There is no rift in the team."
