Sri Lanka elect to bat in final

Sri Lanka [Images] won the toss and chose to bat first against India in the final of the IndianOil Cup triangular series in Colombo, on Tuesday.

Sri Lanka recalled fast bowler Chaminda Vaas [Images] for his first game of the tournament after his recovery from a hamstring injury, while wicketkeeper batsman Kumar Sangakkara kept his place in the side despite suffering from a flu virus.

Opening batsman Sanath Jayasuriya [Images] needs to score 10 runs to become the fourth player in history to score 10,000 runs in one day internationals .

India dropped number three batsman V V S Laxman [Images] to make room for two specialist spinners, off spinner Harbhajan Singh [Images] and leg spinner Anil Kumble [Images].

Sri Lanka won both their round robin matches against India, in a tournament that also included West Indies [Images].
