Approaching milestones in India - South Africa Test series

Batting:

·         Jacques Kallis needs 33 runs to complete 6,000 runs in Test cricket

·         Sachin Tendulkar needs 52 runs to complete 1,000 runs against South Africa. He will become the first Indian to do so.

·         Shaun Pollock needs 68 runs to complete 3,000 runs in Tests. He will also complete a grand allround double of 3,000 runs & 300 wickets

·         Virender Sehwag needs 144 runs to complete 1,000 runs in Tests in the year 2004

·         Rahul Dravid needs 171 runs to complete 3,000 runs in 'home' Tests

·         Graeme Smith needs 256 runs to complete 2,000 runs as South African captain

·         VVS Laxman needs 293 runs to complete 4,000 runs in Tests

·         Sourav Ganguly needs 355 runs to complete 5,000 runs in Tests

·         One more century and Tendulkar will…

a) equal Sunil Gavaskar's world record of 34 centuries

b) equal Sunil Gavaskar's world record of 16 centuries at home

c) equal Mohammad Azharuddin's record of most centuries (4) against South Africa by any Indian.

 

Bowling:

·         Shaun Pollock needs one wicket to complete his 350 wickets in Tests

·         Zaheer Khan needs 7 wickets to complete his 100 wickets in Tests

·         Anil Kumble needs 9 wickets to become leading wicket-taker for India against South Africa surpassing Javagal Srinath's tally of 64 wickets

Anil Kumble needs 11 wickets to become leading wicket-taker for India in all Tests surpassing Kapil Dev's tally of 434 wickets
