Rajneesh Gupta | March 20, 2004 16:44 IST

This match was the 2115th one-day international in cricket history.

Sourav Ganguly has now not won a single toss in seven matches against Pakistan.

Sachin Tendulkar got out without scoring for the 15th time in his career. Among the Indians only Javagal Srinath (19) and Anil Kumble (17) have aggregated more ducks than Tendulkar.

The duck was Sachin Tendulkar's fourth against Pakistan. For India, only Javagal Srinath (6) has aggregated more ducks than Tendulkar against Pakistan.

Rahul Dravid scored 33 off 86 balls at a scoring rate of 38.37. It was his fourth worst performance in an innings of 25 or more runs. Interestingly all these performances have come against Pakistan. The details:

Dravid completed his 1000 runs against Pakistan when his score reached 3. He became the fourth Indian to do so after Mohammad Azharuddin (1657 runs in 44 matches), Sachin Tendulkar (1602 in 47) and Sourav Ganguly (1354 in 39).

The ninth wicket partnership of 39 runs between Yuvraj Singh and Laxmipathy Balaji is India's best for this wicket against Pakistan. The pair obliterated the previous record stand of 35 between Ajit Agarkar and Anil Kumble in Sharjah on 26-03-2000.

Shabbir Ahmed (3-33) achieved his best bowling figures in ODIs bettering the 3 for 52 he took against West Indies in Toronto on 19-09-1999.

Mohammad Sami by conceding 71 runs in his 10 overs achieved a distinction of dubious nature. It was the second time he conceded 70 or more runs in a match against India. Sami had also conceded 74 runs in his 10 overs in the first match of this series in Karachi on March 13. No other bowler from any country has conceded 70 plus runs against India on more than one occasion.

Sami has now gone for 70 or more runs in a match on four occasions. He has thus equalled teammate Abdul Razzaq and Australia's Brett Lee's record. Among the Pakistani bowlers only Waqar Younis has conceded 70 runs in a match on more occasions -seven times - than him, which is a world record.

The 23 wides sent down in Indian innings is a new record in India-Pakistan matches. The previous record was of 22 wides conceded by Pakistan at Toronto on 13-09-1997. Interestingly in that Toronto match Indian bowlers had also conceded 21 wides in Pakistan's innings.

Yasir Hameed (98) became the sixth Pakistani batsman (on the seventh occasion) to become a victim of nervous ninety in a match against India. Incidentally Yasir Hameed also equalled the highest score in nineties by a Pakistani batsman against India. Zahid Fazal had also made 98 (retired hurt) against India at Sharjah on 25-10-1991.However Yasir provided the first instance of a nervous ninety for Pakistan at home soil against India.

The fifth wicket partnership of 91 runs between Yasir Hameed and Inzamam-ul-Haq is Pakistan's best for this wicket against India in Pakistan bettering the unbeaten 68-run partnership between Inzamam-ul-Haq and Moin Khan at Karachi on 30-09-1997.

The seventh wicket unbroken partnership of 74 runs between Abdul Razzaq and Moin Khan is Pakistan's best for this wicket against India in all matches. The pair expunged the previous record stand of 72 between Abdul Razzaq and Azhar Mahmood at Adelaide on 25-01-2000. The previous highest stand for the seventh wicket for Pakistan at home was 25 between Mudassar Nazar and Manzoor Elahi at Quetta on 12-10-1984.

Pathan, with three wickets in this match, has taken his tally to 19 wickets from just 11 matches. Among the Indians only one bowler- Ajit Agarkar – had taken more wickets than Pathan after 11 matches. Agarkar's career aggregate after first 11 matches read as 26.

Yasir Hameed won his fourth Man of the Match award in his 27th match.
