Kale pads up again

Banned cricketer Abhijit Kale padded up again on Saturday, but for his employers Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.

"It was great to put on pads four months after going through all the turmoil", Kale said in Mumbai on Saturday.

Kale is playing for BPCL in the ongoing 24th PSPB inter-unit cricket tournament.

Kale, who is alleged to have offered money to the selectors for a place in the national squad, was banned by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) from playing in the matches and tournaments conducted by it.

However, the ban does not extend to his playing for his employers and other league matches.

"I have already sent my reply to the three-member committee appointed by the board (BCCI) and I hope that they will give me a fair chance to put my viewpoints", Kale said.

Kale, who plays for Maharashtra, also feel sad for not playing the Ranji Trophy Plate division final against Madhya Pradesh.
