England to play Australia in Twenty20 June 24, 2004 15:44 IST England will play Australia in the first international match of Twenty20 cricket next year, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) said on Wednesday. The one-off game of the 20 overs-a-side version of one-day cricket will take place at the Rose Bowl in Southampton on June 13, 2005. The match precedes the normal 50 overs-a-side one-day international series between England, Australia and Bangladesh, which will run from June 16 to July 2. England will then play Australia in three separate one-day internationals between July 7 and July 12 before the five-match Ashes Test series begins at Lord's on July 21. Bangladesh will also contest a two-match Test series, the first time they have played Tests in England, at Lord's and Chester-le-Street in late May and early June. Check the forthcoming fixtures!
