Pakistan score 262 in tour game December 09, 2004 23:20 IST Pakistan were bowled out for 262 against Western Australia on Thursday in a worrying sign for the tourists ahead of next week's first Test against Australia. Yousuf Youhana made 77 and Abdul Razzaq hit an unbeaten 83 while opener Salman Butt (42) was the only player in the top four to reach double figures as their team mates fell victim to poor footwork and shot selection. Pace bowlers Brett Dorey (3-38) and Ben Edmonson (2-71) reduced Pakistan to 78 for five half an hour before lunch though Youhana and Razzaq ensured they lasted until the 83rd over on a fast and bouncy wicket. Western Australia captain Justin Langer was trapped lbw by Shoaib Akhtar for four as his side reached 20 for one at the close of play on the first day of the four-day match.
"There were some positives that Yousuf Youhana and Abdul Razzaq got a good knock and Salman Butt played well." The first Test of the three-match series between Australia and Pakistan starts in Perth on December 16. Australia complete their three-match one-day series against New Zealand on Friday in Brisbane.
