McCullum, Styris given clean chit
December 09, 2004 15:31 IST
ICC match referee Mike Procter gave a clean chit to New Zealand players Brendon McCullum and Scott Styris who were reported by the umpires for showing dissent during the second match of the Chappell-Hadlee Trophy against Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
The two players were reported guilty by the umpires on duty during last night's match.
McCullum was not found guilty of "showing dissent at an umpires decision by action or verbal abuse" and Styris was not found guilty of "abuse of cricket equipment or clothing, ground equipment, fixtures or fittings," an ICC release said on Thursday.
Styris was charged of the misconduct after he hit an open gate with his bat while leaving the field of play.
