India-South Africa Test averages

Virender Sehwag emerged the highest run-getter in the just-concluded two-Test series against South Africa.

The dashing batsman amassed 262 runs at an average of 87.33, but it was vice-captain Rahul Dravid who topped the batting averages with 90.50 in compiling 181 runs.

Off-spinner Harbhajan Singh, who played a key role in India's eight-wicket victory in the second Test in Kolkata, was the pick of the bowlers with a haul of 13 wickets, at an average of 23.61.

For the South Africans, Jacques Kallis scored the maximum runs at 241 and also had the best batting average (80.33).

Makhaya Ntini was their highest wicket-taker with eight scalps from two matches at an average of 32.25.
