Two new faces in Bangladesh team

April 20, 2004 12:44 IST

Bangladesh have named two uncapped players in a squad to play three One-Day Internationals and two Tests on a West Indies tour in May and June.

Faisal Hossain and Abdur Razzak have replaced Al-Sahariar and Manjurul Islam who played against Zimbabwe early this year.

The newcomers are basically batsmen but their spin bowling will be an added advantage for the team, chief selector Faruk Ahmed said.

The team will leave Bangladesh on May 6 and are expected to arrive in Kingston the following day to play the first one-dayer in St. Vincent on May 15.

Squad: Habibul Bashar (captain), Rajin Saleh, Hannan Sarkar, Shahariar Hossain, Mohammad Ashraful, Alok Kapali, Mushfiqur Rahman, Khaled Mahmud, Khaled Mashud, Mohammad Rafique, Manjarul Islam, Faisal Hossain, Tapash Baisya, Tareq Aziz, Abdur Razzak.

Javed Omar, Enamul Haque Jr. and Alamgir Kabir will join the squad for the Test matches.
