Injured seamer Aavishkar Salvi has been replaced by Lakshmipathy Balaji in India's squad for the triangular one-day international against New Zealand on Thursday.

Salvi, picked for the tournament also involving Australia despite being ruled out of the second Test against New Zealand with a hand injury, has still not recovered, an Indian cricket board official said.

Mumbai fast bowler Salvi had made his one-day debut in a triangular tournament in Dhaka in April.

India are being led in their first two matches by Rahul Dravid in the absence of captain Sourav Ganguly, who is out with a groin problem.

The selectors had on Monday named Hemang Badani as a replacement for Ganguly in the first two one-dayers.

The team:
Rahul Dravid
Sachin Tendulkar
Yuvraj Singh
Mohammad Kaif
Zaheer Khan
V V S Laxman
Virender Shewag
Harbhajan Singh
Anil Kumble
Murali Karthik
Parthiv Patel
Hemang Badani
Lakshmipathy Balaji
Ajit Agarkar.
