Ganguly undergoes surgery again

October 18, 2003 13:32 IST

Indian cricket skipper Sourav Ganguly on Saturday underwent a minor surgery to cure abscess on his left upper thigh which forced him to miss the ongoing Mohali Test against New Zealand.

Ganguly, who had undergone a minor surgery for the same problem on Tuesday in Chandigarh, was admitted to a private hospital on Saturday morning where the doctors performed an immediate operation in order to make him fit before the begining of tri-series involving India, New Zealand and Australia begining on October 23.

"Ganguly is now ok. He is now under bed rest in the hospital," said Doctor M Nandi.

Ganguly had returned to Kolkata last night complaining of pain in the affected area.
