West Indies rest Drakes

November 29, 2003 11:44 IST

West Indies selectors have made two changes in their 12-man squad for the final two one-day internationals against Zimbabwe.

Fast bowler Vasbert Drakes is being rested after further aggravating a bruised intercostals muscle in Wednesday's match, which West Indies lost.

"As much as Vassie will be missed this weekend, it is his recovery now," team manager Ricky Skerritt said.

This clears the way for newcomer Ravi Rampaul to return to the lineup or for Fidel Edwards -- who is yet to represent West Indies in a one-day International -- to be included in the final team.

West Indies trail the series 2-1.

Squad:
Brian Lara (Captain), Ramnaresh Sarwan (Vice Captain), Wavell Hinds, Chris Gayle, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Marlon Samuels, Ricardo Powell, Ridley Jacobs, Mervyn Dillon, Ravi Rampaul, Fidel Edwards and Corey Collymore.
