Services peg back Himachal

Fazal Mohammad picked three for 33 to peg back Himachal in the Ranji Trophy Plate Group 'A' cricket match against Services at the Palam Grounds at New Delhi on Monday.

After being bowled out for 233 in their first innings, the hosts hit back to reduce Himachal to 131 for four on the second day of the four-day tie.

Fazal Mohammad had Nishal Gaur caught by Jasbeer Singh for 16 and then sent back Maninder for zero.

The fast medium bowler struck another blow when he removed nightwatchman Sangram Singh for no score, to leave the visitors teetering at three for 35.

Virender Sharma then joined opener Sandeep Sharma and the duo steadied the rocking boat with an 95 run stand for the fourth wicket.

Sandeep Sharma then was trapped leg before for 47.

At stumps, Virender Sharma was batting on 50 with Amit Sharma on two when play closed 11.5 overs ahead of scheduled  time due to bad light.

Earlier, Vikramjit Singh grabbed five for 56 as Himachal dismissed Services for 233.

Services 1st innings: 233 all out in 116.4 overs (Sanjay Verma 58, Vikramjit Singh Malich 5-56, Vishal Bhatia 3-58).

Himachal 1st innings 131 for four in 49.1 overs (Sandeep Sharma 47, Virender Sharma 50 batting; Fazal Mohammad 3-33, Arun Sharma 1-40).
