Ram Kumar rocks Karnataka

Left-arm spinner R Ram Kumar came up with another superb bowling performance, grabbing six wickets for 62 runs, as Tamil Nadu dismissed Karnataka for 235 in their second innings in a Ranji Trophy Elite Group B match at Bangalore on Sunday.

Chasing a victory target of 260, Tamil Nadu were 81 for two at stumps with Sridharan Sriram batting on 19 and S Badrinath on four.

Ram Kumar, who bagged a hat-trick in the first innings during his four-wicket haul, was well supported by Lakshmipathi Balaji, who picked up three wickets for 97 runs on the third day of the four-day fixture.

Stuart Binny top scored for Karnataka with 54, laced with nine fours and one six, while Dodda Ganesh and Sunil Joshi chipped in with 39 and 32, respectively.

Karnataka had gained a first innings lead of 24 runs against Tamil Nadu, who made 184 in their first knock.
