Harbhajan to join Lancashire next month

May 24, 2003 15:01 IST

Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh on Saturday said the injury on his finger injury has almost healed and he will play for the English county side Lancashire next month till the end of September.

He was supposed to join the county in the end of April, but an index finger injury that happened while he was on international duty during last month's one-day series in Bangladesh, delayed his departure for England.

Harbhajan had consulted Indian team physiotherapist Andrew Leipus and a South African specialist during his visit to Johannesburg recently for the IIFA awards.

"The special exercises recommended by a South African specialist have helped in the healing process and my finger looks fine now," the 22-year-old bowler from Jalandhar said, adding he enjoys bowling on England's bouncy tracks and is looking forward to a successful stint with Lancashire.

Harbhajan also said he would be attending the wedding of teammate Dinesh Mongia scheduled early next week
