The West Indian renaissance?

Vasbert Drakes has brought a much-needed professionalism to the team, which was torn apart by inter-island rivalries. He has a wealth of experience in various situations, which has come from all his years of playing first-class cricket. His invaluable contribution to the victory over Australia in the fourth Test once again highlights the folly of not selecting him all these years, simply because he played domestic cricket outside the West Indies.

He claimed 11 wickets in the four-Test series and averaged 20 with the bat.
