Nehra to have physiotherapy in London

May 12, 2003 18:50 IST

Left-arm seamer Ashish Nehra will undergo two months of physiotherapy in London after the plaster on his right ankle is removed later this week.

"I am going to South Africa on Saturday to have the plaster removed, and then I will start physiotherapy training for two months in London," said Nehra.

Nehra, who had a successful World Cup in South Africa, taking 15 wickets at 19.26, underwent surgery on his right ankle for ligament injury last month in South Africa. He has been ruled out of action for at least five months.

However, he has lost none of the enthusiasm that has seen him emerge as India's strike force alongside Javagal Srinath and Zaheer Khan in recent months.

In Delhi on Sunday, he signed autographs for kids and elders at the closing function of a photo exhibition, by Kamal Sharma, nimbly wading through fans on crutches.

Isin't it hard to be away from the cricket field after having enjoyed huge success on the international stage?

"It's okay, there is no cricket for five months. If there had been any match, then there would have been some disappointment," he said.
