July 31, 2003 15:47 IST

New Zealand will host a total of five Tests and 11 one-day matches against Pakistan and South Africa next season.

New Zealand Cricket said on Thursday that Pakistan would tour from early December to mid-January, playing two Tests, five one-day matches and three warm-up games.

South Africa will meet New Zealand in six one-day matches and three Tests from mid-February to late March, with two warm-up games yet to be arranged.

New Zealand have won their most recent encounters against both sides, beating Pakistan in the final of a triangular one-day series in Sri Lanka in May, and South Africa in a rain-affected World Cup group match in February.

The Kiwis tour India in October and November, playing two Tests and taking part in a triangular one-day series also including Australia.

Earlier this month, Gloucestershire's director of cricket John Bracewell, a former Test player, was appointed New Zealand's coach. He starts the job in November.
