The second additional chief judge of the city civil court, Dasaramaiah, pronounced the judgment.

"We are yet to receive a copy of the judgment and cannot comment on the grounds under which the suit has been dismissed," Azhar's lawyer Jagadish said.

Azhar, who had filed the suit in January 2001, declined to comment on the court verdict.

"I cannot comment. I don't know what the reasons are," he told rediff.com over phone.
