Australia race to victory against Kenya

Kenya were dismissed for their lowest ever score of 84 as world champions Australia rushed to an eight-wicket win in the fourth match of a triangular one-day tournament on Monday.

Kenya's previous lowest was 90 against India last year in a tri-nation tournament in South Africa.

At one stage Kenya were 17 for six but Brijal Patel hit 28 to add some respectability to the total.

Australia swept past Kenya's target in 17 overs, scoring 85 for two with opener Matthew Hayden, who scored 146 in an early defeat of Pakistan, unbeaten on 40.

After winning the toss, Australia's opening bowlers Jason Gillespie and Glenn McGrath ripped through Kenya's top and middle order, sharing six wickets within 20 overs.

Captain Steve Tikolo (4), Thomas Odoyo (0) and Maurice Odumbe (0) were dismissed in the 12th, 13th and 14th overs as Kenya's batting, which badly missed injured pair of Ravindu Shah and Hitesh Modi, succumbed to Australia's pace attack.

McGrath finished with 3-8 off eight overs. Gillespie took three for 40 off 10 while leg-spinner Shane Warne took one wicket thanks to the stumping of Patel.
