Srinath in team for Windies Tests

Veteran fast bowler Javagal Srinath has been named in the Indian side for the first two Tests against the West Indies.

The national selectors, which met in Bangalore on Friday, also included 20-year-old Haryana leg spinner Amit Mishra in the 14-man squad.

Srinath, who announced his retirement three months ago, agreed to return to Test cricket after much persuasion from skipper Sourav Ganguly.

The first Test will be played in Mumbai from October 9, while the second Test will start in Chennai on October 17.

The team: Sourav Ganguly (captain), Virender Sehwag, Shiv Sunder Das, Sanjay Bangar, Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar, V V S Laxman, Parthiv Patel, Anil Kumble, Harbhajan Singh, Javagal Srinath, Ashish Nehra, Zaheer Khan, Amit Mishra.
