Perplexing decisions
Wonder how the team management arrives at decisions? Do they sit on a round table with notepads in hand, discussing ideas and strategies and grading them for their worth. And if they do that, they are professionals, they must, then how do they arrive at ridiculous decisions?
Then why do they say what they say in public. Ajay Ratra did not lend the balance that was expected so 'Drop'sgupta may be recalled. And how the man who drops catches, is an embarrassment behind the wicket and made a zero supposed to lend the balance.
If we take the last three Tests, Ajay Ratra alone (in the two Tests) performed his functions consistently, kept well did not drop catches, and was fast on his feet to even effect a run out. All others, in the their appointed jobs have failed in consistency. If the openers did not fail, the middle order collapsed, if the bowlers performed like men on a mission in one Test, they were uninspired in the next. And now the talk is the only man who was consistent through out does not lend balance...
And the words again, Kumble is a great bowler.... sure who has an argument with that. But got three wickets at an average of 70 plus. At least Harbhajan averaged the second best after Nehra with six wickets. And troubled the batsmen at times.
Heaven help the Indian team.
