3rd Test, Day 3 at Bridgetown, Barbados

** The 215 run partnership between Carl Hooper and Shivnarine Chanderpaul was second highest for the 5th wicket at this ground. The 281 run stand between Australians Ricky Ponting and Steve Waugh in March 1999 remains the best. However, it was the best for the home team at this venue bettering the 185 run partnership between Collie Smith and Everton Weekes against Pakistan way back in January 1958.

** Meanwhile Hooper and Chanderpaul became the third pair in Test cricket history to be involved in a 200-plus partnership for the fifth wicket on two separate occasions. The Australian pairs of Allan Border-Steve Waugh and Ricky Ponting-Steve Waugh are the others who have the distinction of being in involved in two 200-plus partnerships for the fifth wicket. However, the Hooper-Chanderpaul feat is unique since they did so in the same series.

** For the first time in his Test career, Hooper not only crossed the 400-run mark in a series, but has two three-figure scores in the same series. Prior to this series, Hooper had ten single hundreds in as many series.

** The dismissal of Tendulkar was his sixth 'leg-before' in the last seven innings.

** Tendulkar's match aggregate of eight runs (0+8) in this match was his second lowest in any Test match (where he has been dismissed in both innings). His lowest Test match aggregate remains as the six runs (6+0) against South Africa at Port Elizabeth in December 1992.

** Playing in his 21st Test and 35th innings as captain, Sourav Ganguly became the sixth Indian to aggregate 1000 Test runs as captain. The other Indian captains to do so are: Sunil Gavaskar (3449 runs in 47 matches), Mohammad Azharuddin (2856 in 47), Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi (2424 in 40), Sachin Tendulkar (2054 in 25) and Kapil Dev (1364 in 34). Ganguly at close on the third day has 1012 runs.

** The partnership of 80 runs between Shiv Sunder Das and Wasim Jaffer was India's best for the first wicket at this ground obliterating the previous best of 61 runs between Gavaskar and Aunshuman Gaekwad in April 1983.

** Cameron Cuffy's current bowling figures of 18-15-3-0 (Runs per over: 0.17) on the third day was the second most economical bowling spells in Test cricket history after left-arm spinner Bapu Nadkarni's analysis of 32-27-5-0 (R/o: 0.16) against England at the Corporation Ground, Madras in January 1964. Cuffy's figures were the best economical bowling analysis by any West Indian bowler in Tests. Left-armer Gary Sobers had figures of 14-11-3-1 (R/o: 0.21) against New Zealand at Wellington in March 1956.
