Ramnaresh Sarwan smashed his first-ever century to help West Indies win the second ODI by 84 runs in its three-match series against Bangladesh in Dhaka on Monday.

Chasing a target of 267 off 50 overs, Bangladesh were all out on 182.

West Indies leads the series 1-0.

The third and final match of the series will be played at Dhaka's Bangabandhu National Stadium on Tuesday. The first match on Friday was rained out.

After winning the toss and opting to bat, the Windies made a slow start. Wavel Hinds was caught before the wicket
for a duck and Chris Gayle was caught by Bangladesh captain and wicketkeeper Khaled Masud for 21 runs.

The West Indies team then picked up steam with a third-wicket partnership of Marlon Samuels and Sarwan that
produced 146 runs off 161 balls, before Samuels was bowled out by Naimur Rahman at 82.

Sarwan had a close shave when he was nearly run out after 29 runs but was saved by a TV umpire's decision. He went on to make 104 from the last ball of the Windies innings.

It was Sarwn's first century and earned him the man-of-the-match award.

Bangladesh also began its innings by losing the first wicket without scoring a run.

West Indies bowlers kept the pressure on Bangladesh. Pacer Vasbert Drakes claimed four wickets for 18. He was well
backed by spinner Mahendra Nagamotoo and pacer Cameron Cuffy, who each took two wickets.
