India remain non-committal on touring Pakistan for three Tests and three one-day internationals next April, Pakistan Cricket Board director Chishty Mujahid said on Monday.

The Indian team, which has not played Pakistan since the Asia Cup final at Dhaka in April, 2000, is scheduled to tour the country from April 8 to May 15 under the International Cricket Council's future tours fixtures.

"The Indian board remains non-committal as yet on their prospects of playing the series and we are concerned with the situation," Mujahid said."I met the Indian board secretary S.K. Nair in Harare last week and discussed the tour. But he avoided making any commitments," Mujahid said.

The Indian government stopped its cricket team from playing Pakistan in a bilateral series for the last 30 months after accusing the Pakistan government of promoting cross border terrorism in Kashmir.

Pakistan denies the charge, although it admits to lending the separatist uprising "moral, political and diplomatic" support.

Mujahid said an official letter had also been sent to the Indian board asking for a response on the tour.

"But we have received no answer. We have now forwarded a copy and sent our comments to the ICC for their knowledge," he added.

Mujahid said it would be premature to write off the tour and Pakistan would not give up hope.

Since the September 11 attacks on the United States last year, Pakistan has been hit hard by cancelled or relocated tours and the PCB says it has lost millions of dollars in revenues.

Pakistan was forced to play the West Indies and Australia at Sharjah and Colombo this year, while New Zealand also aborted a tour to Pakistan last April in Karachi.
