The Unsung Hero

Born in Indore, 11-1-1973, Dravid was a natural at the game. They say, "If you never look like a cricketer you will never be one," and Dravid certainly always looks the part. His classical style has it's critics but has also seen him become India's safest bet outside the sub-continent.

A player who prefers to bide his time, waiting for the bowler to bowl to his strengths and then punishing every bad ball that comes his way, Dravid made his first class debut aged 17 and scored his maiden hundred in his second innings, 134 for Karnataka against Bengal.

He hasn't looked back since.
