Tendulkar eighth in all-time leading scorers' list

Sachin Tendulkar's hopes of a 30th Test century were shattered when he was dismissed for 92 on the final day of the second Test against England, at Trent Bridge, on Monday.

But the 92 runs he scored in the second innings, in addition to the 34 in the first innings, pushed him to eighth in the all-time leading scorers' list.

Monday's knock placed him ahead of the England's Geoffery Boycott and West Indies' Gary Sobers.

Steve Waugh is the only contemporary cricketer ahead of Tendulkar. Waugh is presently third, with 9,600 runs.
