Grass being shorn off Wankhede pitch

In an interesting developement just a day before the start of the first Test at the Wankhede Stadium, Bombay, the grass is being shorn of the pitch in a very systematic manner.
At a press conference earlier in the day, Australia captain Steve Waugh had aired his views about the pitch, saying he was pleasantly suprised by the amount of grass that was on the Wankhede pitch.
It apparently seems the Indian management was not happy with the state the pitch was in and, as per their request, the curator and ground staff were seen cutting the grass that was on it.
As a few of our readers may recall there was a controversy regarding the preparation of the pitches for the Test matches even before the Aussies left Australia.
