The Holy War: Linux, Unix, Windows NT. Which is your religion? Now is the time to stand by it... Join the Rediff discussion group.
Megacorps and evangelists have brought their Holy War to the shores of India. Here they are slugging it out to capture as much of the emerging ISP business as possible.

ISPs are about to put their faith in one or the other platform. If there ever can be a time to win or lose all, it is now.

Every word of mouth, or email, or Web page counts.

So can we know whose side are you on?

Some of you may have read the recently published Will Indian ISPs slam doors on Windows? In that article, Rediff attempted to focus on the intensity of the competition among the likes of Sun Microsystems and Microsoft.

Will Indian ISPs slam doors on Windows?
Meena Ganesh's email
Instead, Rediff ended up in a controversy. Amidst strongly worded reader response on the issue, was an email from Microsoft's Meena Ganesh.

She felt that Windows NT has been wronged. Though she does not point at any factual error in the report, her contention is that the tone of the article is less than charitable.

All this only brought home to the editors of Rediff the gravity of the situation. There are about 400 ISPs in India waiting to decide on a platform.

Obviously, this is no more an issue of technology, or religion, but life and death for an OS in one of the fastest growing IT markets of the world.

Here is your chance to influence decisions now. Decisions that will decide the future of digital India.

It does not matter who you are. Every business or finance person has her own story to tell about the systems they work with. Every technology person has insights that make sense to him but not to the rest of the office ;-))

So, read what others think or, even better, if you have an opinion, upload it...
