'I am waiting for something exciting to come my way'
Bombay, November 29, 2000, 1900 hours IST: Jugal Hansraj, the shy youngster who stole hearts for his performance in Mohabbatein did his best to answer the deluge of queries.
Jugal Hansraj (Wed Nov 29, 2000, 5:19 PST)
Hi everybody, happy to be here, and happy to read all your messages and chat with you :-)
Amita (Wed Nov 29, 2000, 5:0 PST)
Hi Jugal:-) u were great in Mohabbatein, tell me how was the whole expetience like? I and my 6 pals with me in UK are simply waiting for your reply
Jugal Hansraj (Wed Nov 29, 2000, 5:22 PST)
Amita: The experience in Mohabattien was great infact the best I've had while doing any film. It was the most planned and detailed film I've worked in. It was hard work but also great fun. Infact all of us guys really got along and we have been friends eversince.
Preeti (Wed Nov 29, 2000, 5:21 PST)
So Jugal what ahead after Mohabbatein ?
Jugal Hansraj (Wed Nov 29, 2000, 5:24 PST)
Preeti: I haven't taken on any film yet, because I'm waiting for something very exciting which all of us can enjoy watching.
Natasha (Wed Nov 29, 2000, 5:0 PST)
Hi Jugal you have worked with Shekhar Kapur and Adi, what were both the experiences like?
Jugal Hansraj (Wed Nov 29, 2000, 5:26 PST)
Natasha: Both Shekhar and Adi are great directors and brilliant in terms of working with actors. Both are very patient, so infact I see more similarities than differences in their styles of working. Both are very detailed in their work and also very patient with our mistakes!
Mamta (Wed Nov 29, 2000, 5:1 PST)
Since Masoom have u always wanted to be an actor? What went wrond with your comeback vehicle? and Now what advise have you been given by Adi?
Jugal Hansraj (Wed Nov 29, 2000, 5:27 PST)
Mamta: I never really planned to be an actor it all sort of happened on its own. My comeback film Aa Gale Lag Ja didn't do as well as expected though the music really caught on and gave me a good enough start, as for the advise by Adi he feels I should take on films where the roles are really exciting with lot of scope for performance and that I should continue to work as hard as I did for Mohabattien.
Rafiq (Wed Nov 29, 2000, 5:2 PST)
Hi Jugal dont you think Mohabbatein was too long? and secondly how did you inspire Adi? the story or the music?
Jugal Hansraj (Wed Nov 29, 2000, 5:33 PST)
Rafiq: I don't think Mohabbatein was too long because it was about four stories and all had to have a complete end to them and as far as inspiring Adi he is a fairly inspired director he doesn't need any outside inspiration for a music or story. Infact if there was any contribution it was for my other friend Karan Johar's film Kuch Kuch Hota Hai where he used my tune for his title song. What happened was this, over dinner he told me the title of his film and when I went home I just started humming some old tunes and from there this tune with the words just came into my mind so the next day I sang it out to him and he loved it and wanted to use it for his film, at first I thought he was joking because I'm not a trained music person but he was pretty convinced so I told him to go ahead and use the tune at his own peril! But as we all know it turned out to be very popular, thank god for that!:-)
kalpana (Wed Nov 29, 2000, 5:26 PST)
Hi!Jugal. How was it like working with Shahrukh? Are you really as shy as you looked in Mohabbatein?
Jugal Hansraj (Wed Nov 29, 2000, 5:36 PST)
Kalpana: Workng with Shah Rukh was a great experience because he is a very hard working actor and a very unselfish actor as he likes to help all the new actors around him, I got to learn a lot. Uday and me have been friends for many years, much before Mohabbatein started so we really had a great time cracking jokes and sort of encouraging each other throughout the film. Even Jimmy has become a great friend now.
Mansi (Wed Nov 29, 2000, 5:5 PST)
Are u sad you didn't have any special scenes with The Big B? Did Shah Rukh give u guys any advise?
Jugal Hansraj (Wed Nov 29, 2000, 5:38 PST)
Mansi: I was just too happy to be in the same film as Big B that was reward enough since I'm a big fan of his and I have grown watching his films. We learned from Shah Rukh not to be afraid to try and do scenes in different ways because as an actor it is the job to keep improvising.
Aayesha (Wed Nov 29, 2000, 5:38 PST)
Hey Jugal, greetings from the UK, much more rain that when you were here and just as cold. Been a fan of yours for AGES (about 16 years). Who are you a fan of, past and present in the industry?
Jugal Hansraj (Wed Nov 29, 2000, 5:39 PST)
Aayesha: Greetings to you too. I've always been a big fan of Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh and whenever I need some cheering up I put on a video cassette of their songs and dances and I feel better. Presently I admire Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol and now Hrithik Roshan
Cindy (Wed Nov 29, 2000, 5:28 PST)

What was it like working with Shahrukh, especially when you had to be emotional?
Jugal Hansraj (Wed Nov 29, 2000, 5:43 PST)
Cindy: I really got emotional while doing that scene because the lines were so well written and Shah Rukh acted it out so well. So I didn't have to try to be emotional it came naturally.
Jugal Hansraj (Wed Nov 29, 2000, 5:43 PST)
*more* I really cried in that scene without using glycerine
Aditi (Wed Nov 29, 2000, 5:39 PST)

zainab (Wed Nov 29, 2000, 5:51 PST)
TELL ME HOW WAS YOUR EXPERIENCE WITH YOUR FRACTURED LEG?
Jugal Hansraj (Wed Nov 29, 2000, 5:47 PST)
Zainab: I had a hairline fracture in my left foot halfway through the song 'Aankhen khuli' my shoe was lose and it came off while I had Kim in my arms, so with all that wieght and the fall the bone cracked, so I had to complete the rest of the song with a plaster on my foot. It was really painful but everybody sort of egged me on and we completed the song on time.

Jugal Hansraj (Wed Nov 29, 2000, 5:54 PST)
Saumya: Thanks for watching it so many times working with Mahesh Bhatt was great fun because he is a very entertaining person to be around with also we shot in this beautiful country of Sycehelles, also I love the beautiful water of the Indian Ocean and the white sands of the beaches out there so for me it was like shooting in paradise

jugal..what scene do you like in mohabbatein..?
Jugal Hansraj (Wed Nov 29, 2000, 5:57 PST)
Zairth: My fave scene in Mohabbatein is the one towards the end of the film when Shah Rukh enters Mr Bachchan's house to apologise and also tell him about all that he has lost. I think both the actors performed brilliantly in the scene, I think it was also the best written scene in the film.
Zarith (Wed Nov 29, 2000, 6:3 PST)

Jugal Hansraj (Wed Nov 29, 2000, 6:0 PST)
