Shreekant (Mon Mar 23 1998 7:49 IST)
Mr Swamy: Why did you join hands with Jayalalitha after exposing her corruption?

Sanjay (Mon Mar 23 1998 7:50 IST)
Mr Swamy: Are you disappointed for not being appointed as the FM of India?

yale (Mon Mar 23 1998 7:50 IST)
How long will your fair-weather friendship with Jaya last?

Goyal (Mon Mar 23 1998 7:52 IST)
Mr Swamy, You and other politicians have changed their alliances so often and so quickly, sometimes within months. How can you calim to understand this vast and complex country if you can't even understand your political allies.

Shreekant (Mon Mar 23 1998 7:53 IST)
Mr Swamy: How come fundamentalism is breeding in TN?

shamel (Mon Mar 23 1998 7:55 IST)
Dr. Swamy, Once a government has been installed, why can't all parlamentarians across party lines ensure that it gets a fair chance of going 5 yrs. Talk of bringing it down should arise only in dire circumstances.

Princess (Mon Mar 23 1998 7:55 IST)
Princess (Mon Mar 23 1998 7:49 IST) Mr Swamy, years ago you said you will become prime minister in so many years. Well past that mark, whatever went wrong? Do you think you will still become PM some day?

Ayaz Siddiqui (Mon Mar 23 1998 7:56 IST)
You told Mr Nandy that your relationship with Mr Vajpayee has improved. Has he forgiven you for carrying tales to Morarji Desai?

P K Madhu (Mon Mar 23 1998 7:56 IST)
The New York Times has alluded to the fact that Mr Vajpayee stays with a lady. Is this correct?

PNA (Mon Mar 23 1998 7:57 IST)
Hello folks. Did you all start this disc. early ?

Goyal (Mon Mar 23 1998 7:57 IST)
Mr Swami, with reference to your answer to Dutta (Mon Mar 23 1998 7:53 IST), Is Vote collection your only aim. IF your politics is no different from BJP why are you projecting your politics to be superior to them. And if you can make compropises with corrupt people in politics, where is assurance that you will not make any compromises with corrupt people when in power, just for saving your seat?

Shreekant (Mon Mar 23 1998 7:57 IST)
Dr Swamy: Why your party Janata Party not able to spread the organisation in various parts of India. After all you are the one of the most charismatic leader in India today. Or do you think Indian voters are fool not to recognise your talent?

P K Madhu (Mon Mar 23 1998 7:59 IST)
Dr Swamy: Thank you for your kind response. How many months do you give this government?

Ayaz Siddiqui (Mon Mar 23 1998 7:59 IST)
JJ said she wants to defang you. Can anyone ever defang you?

Goyal (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:1 IST)
Dr Swamy, you consider Jaylalitha to be patriotics person. What about Chandralata? and about Jaya's 1000 saris? You consider them also to be part of her patriotism?

Shreekant (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:2 IST)
Dr Swamy: How can you call Jayalalitha, a patriotic, who has spend crores of public money on her foster son's marriage?

PNA (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:3 IST)
Dr.Swamy>> Do you think Ms. Jaya is corrupt. ??

nagendra (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:3 IST)
Mr S.Swamy You originally started your career with RSS, then you quit it. But You now have strong reservations with them , then why did you join them intially??

Sanjay (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:4 IST)
Dr Swamy: Besides, politics, what are your hobbies. I mean do you like to play cricket?

akumar (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:4 IST)
De.Swamy>> In view of the new TDP-BJP alliance your edge in the house is virtually gone?

Goyal (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:6 IST)
Mr Swamy, thanks for the reply. But I should rephrase myself. Speed by which you got into an alliance with Jaylalitha, can you assure that you will not form an alliance with BJP after three years? After all, it was you who started all the legal action against Jaylalitha?

P K Madhu (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:6 IST)
Will you and JJ break away from the BJP and join hands with the Congress to form a government if this north Indian party ignores Tamil Nadu.

akumar (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:7 IST)
Dr.Swamy>> You had a crucial vote in the house before the new TDP-BJP alliance shaped up. What is going to be your new strategy to gain some importance?

PNA (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:7 IST)
Dr.Swami>> It is said that politics makes strange bedfellows. Do you think this is true in your case. How do you explain your constant realignment.

Dr Velmurugan (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:9 IST)
Dr.Swamy>>> You were the one to file a COUPLE of CORRUPTION cases against Ms. Jaya!!! But now you have joined hands with her!!! What is your Explanation for this please???

PNA (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:11 IST)
Dr.Swami>> Whe are you going to withdraw your cases against Ms.Jaya, now that both of you are partners....

akumar (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:11 IST)
Dr.Swamy>> How can you expect to hold political positions without any political base of any kind? You seem to be depending on other leaders to lend you a mass base.

Jagannathan (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:11 IST)
What do you think the Indian political scene will be after 20 years based upon the present youth and dynamics

nagendra (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:12 IST)
Dr Swamy>>When does you foe turn friend and a friend foe is difficult to point out, why is it so??

Common Man (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:13 IST)
Dr. Swamy, In an interview to Rediff, you have quoted that you almost had a chance of getting the Nobel prize. What was this for !!!

Harvard (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:14 IST)
Dr. Swamy, I agree with common man. Why don't you renounce politics and complete your work towards a Nobel prize?

akumar (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:16 IST)
Dr.Swamy>> You have an impeccable academic credentials. Do you think it could be of great help to the society if you channel your contributions in acadamic and intellecutal institutions than in politics full of people with dubious nature?

Goyal (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:17 IST)
"At the moment I have no cases pending against Ms Jayalalitha since in 1996" ....!!! Are you saying that you disown your allegations against Jayalalitha? What happens to public money that was wasted in investigating your allegations against her? Do you always disown your actions?

Sanjay (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:19 IST)
Dr Swamy: Why the BJP is afraid of you? And can you tell us how long the government will last?

Nachiketa (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:20 IST)
What makes you think that your ex-position in Harvard is a good enuff qualification to be India's PM? There are scores of folks in Harvard coming from India. And you were not the first India to be a Prof. in Harvard. Nor were you the last one.

akumar (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:20 IST)
Dr.Swamy>> Do you think a party of one MP is needed in a country of the size of India? How do you think it can play a constructive role in the society/country?

Dr Velmurugan (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:20 IST)
Dr. Swamy>>> I read in one News articlae that you worked in IIT, Delhi? Is it really true?

Anurag (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:21 IST)
Dr Swamy, What surprises most of us in the US is that a Harvard alumni is surfing the corrupt Indian political scene groping desperately for something important to do. Is this just a race to get somewhere in a hurry, or is it a question of money and the other spoils that Indian politics affords? As an individual, Dr. Swamy no longer offers any credibility. Your comments please

seth (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:22 IST)
Dr.Swamy> What are your views on Politics of opportunity

Harvard (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:22 IST)
Dr. Swamy, you have not answered my question on tenureship at Harvard. Thats the all important question folks. Being a prof otherwise is no big deal

T Manivannan (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:23 IST)
Thank for Rediff for arranging chat my native Place MP.

Comman Man (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:23 IST)
Dr.Swamy, the Tamil Brahmin Community is very influential. In fact I am one too. I know how it works inside. Only that I don't subscribe to your policies.

venket (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:24 IST)
The reason you withdraw yourself letting Kumar coming over.

Nachiketa (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:24 IST)
To continue further, is it true that all these allusions to "Harvard" are symbolic of the servile mentality that afflicts our "elite", and goads them to think that the "Harvard-thappa" is a good enuff reason to lead a country of 90 crore men and women. In the aftermath of British Raj, it was Oxford. Now it is Harvard. What is the difference?

venket (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:25 IST)
The reason you withdraw yourself letting Kumar coming over.

Comman Man (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:25 IST)
Dr. Swamy, your tenure in IIT Delhi saw one of the worst controversies in the history of IIT Delhi. And the people there attribute it to your arrogance. How come you and controversy go together !

Harvard (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:26 IST)
Nachiketa, lets face it. servile or not, getting into Harvard you got to be smart.

Goyal (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:26 IST)
Mr Swamy, now you have started ignoring the inconvenient questions!! Why did you making allegations against Jayalalitha when you know that she is a patriotic person. If you can't judge an individual, how can you understand a country?

PNA (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:27 IST)
Dr.Swamy>> Thank for your responses.. since the govt. has taken over all your cases, do still supoport the govt. in proceeding with them. do you think Ms. Jaya is corrupt ?. I am looking for a straight answer. Yes or No Please.

venket (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:28 IST)
The reason you withdraw yourself letting Kumar coming over.

Dr Velmurugan (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:28 IST)
Dr. Swmay>>> Lets hear YOUR FRANK OPINION!!! Do you expect to get the MINISTERIAL BERTH during the BJP's Second round of INDUCTION? (through Ms. Jaya's Influence or whatsoever!!!)

T Manivannan (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:28 IST)
If you solving bus station problem it will be great relief for Mdu People

PNA (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:29 IST)
Dr.Swamy>> A supplement to Mr.Goyals question. Do you think a corrupt preson can be patriotic. ?? What is your agenda IF you become FM.

Comman Man (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:29 IST)
You were one of the bitter critics of Jayalalitha and it had even earned you a name the JAMES BOND of Tamil Nadu (reacll that incident) and nowadays you go around quoting that Jaylalitha is one of the good politicans I have seen ! What is the factor that led to this change in stand ??

anu (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:29 IST)
Dr. Swamy, How can you explain teaming up with Jayalalitha? It is an established fact that JJ is one of the most corrupt CM's that TN has seen - in fact u had a couple of case up against her. Have you found a common cause in corruption?

Nachiketa (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:30 IST)
Harvard: The focus of discussion is Subramanian Swamy. However, my take on your stmt is: Smartness is one thing. But if that were the sole criterion, then all Nobel Prize winners should be made Presidents and Prime Ministers. To be a successful leader, you have to have a feel for people's aspirations and dreams. That made an MGR, a Mulayam more successful politicians. I do not like them. But we have to admit that they could relate to their constituency far more effectively than Dr. SS. All he is doing is flaunting his past. That will get him nowhere in politics.

Harvard (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:30 IST)
Dr. Swamy, Do you still believe that Jayalalitha was involved in the chandralekha acid assault case ?

maverick (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:31 IST)
Namaskaar, Dr. Swamy

PNA (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:32 IST)
Dr.Swamy>> you project yourself to be a credible person and politician. What credibility have you got when you accuse somebody of corruption and then join hands with them. Are you not relegating yourself to be JUST ANOTHER POLITICIAN who says what he doesn't mean and doesn;t say what he means...

Dilip (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:32 IST)
Mr Swamy, don't you symbolise the height of political opportunism and degradation of politics?

Comman Man (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:33 IST)
Dr. Swamy, Do you acknowledge the fact that the success of AIADMK and other BJP allies in the state is mainly due to Vajapayee ?? The people wanted him to head the government at the centre. Otherwise, after all the charges you had made against Jayalalitha, do you honestly think she would have such a sweeping victory ?

maverick (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:34 IST)
Dr. Swamy, What do you see your role in the future of this govt. ?

Harvard (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:34 IST)
Nachiketa, MGR for all his feel from dreams et al was but an actor and not competent performance wise. While flauting the past is ignorant you can't really go by demagogues such as laloo. Dr Swamy why don't you focus on research ?

Comman Man (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:34 IST)
Dr.Swamy, why are you skipping questions about your sudden change in stand against Jayalalitha ?

anu (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:35 IST)
Dr SS, DO u ever reflect back and think that Hravard was a much better deal than your jingo's with JJ? Or is the ill earned money keeping your interest alive?

T Manivannan (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:36 IST)
Good Plan Swamy. If you are concentrate these day to day problems in Mdu it will be really appreciated. 1. Drainage 2. Common Bus Stand 3. Water problem

Nachiketa (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:36 IST)
Harvard: Yes that is true. That is why I do not like MGR, Laloo, or Mulayam. But then, they were/have been succesful politicians, because they talk to people in their lang. Dr. SS on other hand can never do that. His Harvard degree can do him no good there.

Dr Subramanian Swamy (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:36 IST)
Common Man: I have answered two questions for more questions see me when you are in India.

Comman Man (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:36 IST)
PNA>> forget all that. Some places in other parts of the country don't even have roads in north-east and Bihar, it's even worse. Do you honestly think anyone will ever do anything for that ? If theyclean it all up, then they will run out of issues to hassle the government.

amalan (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:37 IST)
Hello! SO what about the cases you had filed against JJ? Are you withdrawing them now since you have suddenly discovered that JJ is a honest, poor tormented soul, waiting to serve TN? All this after your close aide Mrs.Chandralekha had that attack on her and you crying hoarse ?. Is she with you on this? I only hope she is not. Do you think you are acting like an alumnus of Harvard. On top of it, a professor ? Please sit back and think even if u cannot come upfront with an answer! I doubt even God can save Tamil Nadu. TN people need to start praying for a miracle to happen.

anu (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:37 IST)
DR. SS, What made you take a stand of voting against the BJP initally and now it seems that you have turned around?

akumar (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:37 IST)
Dr.Swamy>> "abolition of personal income tax" - how is it good for the country?

PaiNN (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:38 IST)
Dear Mr Swamy, What do you think is your single most significant contribution to India ? And is that a difficult question to answer ?

PNA (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:38 IST)
Common Man>> I understand. But I am in Dr.Swami's constituency. Hence my question and comment.

Dr Velmurugan (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:38 IST)
Dr. Swmay>>> One more question on Politics!!! If the CASES FILED BY you AGAINST Ms. Jaya has been proved, What will be your future course of action?

T Manivannan (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:39 IST)
I am expecting some changes in Mdu especially Jaihindupuram. Because I have brought up from jaihindupuram only.

Comman Man (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:40 IST)
Dr.Swamy, why are you shrugging your responsilbility. Vajapayee can't think of Madurai alone. You are the MP from Madurai. You have to bother about Madurai and not pass it off saying "That is for Mr.Vajapayee..."

anu (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:40 IST)
Dr. SS, What do you think is the future of TN now that BJP is in the center?

Goyal (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:41 IST)
Mr Swamy, Can you grade following politicians in level of corruption 1. PV Narsimha Rao,2. Rajiv Gandhi,3. Atal Bihari Bajpai 4. Laloo, 5. Jayalitha, 6. I K Gujral, 7. V P Singh, 8. Mr Subramiam Swamy 7.

maverick (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:41 IST)
Dr. Swamy, Thanks for your response. You have to show yourself as a man of integrity and rise above the petty fights to really get Atalji's confidence.

JaiBJP (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:41 IST)
Hello watchdog swamy. Has Amma told you which party to vote according to your conscience?

Dr Velmurugan (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:42 IST)
Dr. Swamy>>> Pl answer my query on your SUBURBAN SERVICE FOR MADURI. On what basis you are telling it?

amalan (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:42 IST)
Hello! Did u read an article about you on rediff.com where you had denied the reporter's comment that JJ had tried to kill you 12 times ? A link was posted in the article that pointed to your earlier article where YOU quoted that she had done that? How can you contradict yourself to such a level. It is humourous to others. But should'nt it be a issue of serious concern to you? The article is under the politics or news section of this internet magazine. Take a look and shock yourself! Will you please?

PaiNN (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:44 IST)
As I was asking, Mr Swamy, what has been your most significant contribution to India ? And in that context, I dont think ECONOMICS has been your forte. Have you looked yourself in the mirror and made a self-assessment ?

Dr Velmurugan (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:44 IST)
Dr. Swamy>>> It looks like YOU are Evading our questions whenever we try to COUNTER-argue with you? Please reply to our counter questions!!!

Comman Man (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:44 IST)
Dr.Swamy, Honestly, I feel that the people should elect the Prime Minister rather than the MPs. That way ther willbe no way a one-MP-PARTY can hold the country to ransom. And the government will be responsible also. (If you remember why the JURY SYSTEM was abolished in India, it was because that when a JURY decides a sentence, you cannot hold anyone responsible for the the cases of wrong SENTENCE). Also, now the politicians cannot take the people for a ride like the UF and Congress blaming each other for the government coming down, while both are equal culprits.

PNA (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:44 IST)
Dr.Swamy>> you are answering only selected questions. Are the questions too blunt ??

anu (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:45 IST)
People, Is it fair to ask all these inconvenient questions to Dr. SS although he is as bad as the other jokers in the political scene? Why not ry some humor instead?

JaiBJP (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:45 IST)
Swamy> If income tax is contributing to only 3% of the govt revenue...its because of all those people who are acting according to their corrupted "conscience". You are certanily a different economist. However that does not make you good enough to put the country's finance in your hands, is the humble opinion of our party.

T Manivannan (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:45 IST)
Do you have any plan to renovate Meenakkashi temple,Thirumalai nayakkar mahal, Mathanagopal sannathi............

Harvard (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:45 IST)
Dr. Swamy, you have my support for abolition of Income tax. The whole tax thing is a bloody sham. People with means get away and the middle classes get screwed as usual. However I do feel you should confine primarily to economic issues given your background and leave politics for Jaya and her ilk

Goyal (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:46 IST)
Mr Swamy, did you notice by the tone of questions! How much people love you and your politics!!

akumar (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:46 IST)
Dr.Swamy>> With the new BJP-TDP alliance, BJP is not likey to care much for what you say--after all you have do to BJP. Was it all worth it?

Lakshmi (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:46 IST)
Dr.Swamy, I was a very strong admirer of you when there was literally no opposition party during the rule of JJ. You took up the role of opposition party and it was really great to see what you were doing. In fact, I would even say that you were educating the people of TN in a way. I was so impressed by you, in the recent elections, even though you had joined hands with JJ, since JJ was an ally of BJP, I had even telephoned my relatives in Madurai (from US) and asked them to vote for you. But, I was shell-shocked to note your turn-around soon after your victory. Don't you think what you did is wrong? I think, if you want to respect people's mandate, you should have quietly supported BJP whether or not you get FM post.

Pratik (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:47 IST)
Dr. Swamy: You still are a member of the ruling coalition, what role beyond Madurai do you see yourself playing in the affairs of the nation

Prabhu (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:47 IST)
Dr Swamy, you are the most inconsistent politician we have seen in India. Perhaps it is the way your CIA masters want you to "act"

T Manivannan (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:47 IST)
I hope Mdu will not see water problem during this summer. Do you think so?

anu (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:48 IST)
Dr SS, Was Bal thackeray present at your naming ceremony? SS is a nice name (Shiv sena). Will you join SS if they offer you enough incentive or will your 'conscience' hamper it?

Comman Man (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:48 IST)
About income tax Dr.Swamy, the reason it attributes to only 3% is because people having crores like Jayalalitha and others don't pay up. If you enforce it stricter for people in the income bracket of Jayalalitha and Sonia Maino to pay up 40% at least, you can surely elevate that to 30% at least! Rather than harassing the lower class people.

amalan (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:48 IST)
Hey Common Man, Harvard and others with questions on developing madurai/TN/india! would u guys stop cornering him and giving him the opportunity to avoid other questions ? All indians know that nothing is going to come out of these no good politicians. Hasnt all these happenings even taught you these? He is not brave enough to answer other questions! probably filled with shame which is another remote possibility.

T Manivannan (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:48 IST)
I hope Mdu will not see water problem during this summer. Do you think so?

Dr Velmurugan (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:48 IST)
Dr. Swamy>>> You can even come to CRRI, New Delhi, and we can do a Comprehensive Traffic and Transportation Study and give you.

JaiBJP (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:48 IST)
Swamy and Mani Shanker Iyer will definitely go down as the politicians with conscience in the history!!

arcnik (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:48 IST)
By the way I greatly admire you. I know your motives are genuine.

Harvard (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:49 IST)
Dr. Swamy , the tourism infrastructure for Madurai is still primitive. Surely you must have observed that a temple town such as Madurai could be a huge revenue earner if things were done right.

akumar (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:50 IST)
Dr.Swamy>> Is the present income tax contributes only 3%, we should try to widen the tax base and make it higher- not abolish it. People ought to pay for the services like national defence, internal law and order and such. Don't you think income tax installs a sense of responsibility among people?

anu (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:51 IST)
Dr SS, Why arent you responding? National issues take a lower precedence over water to Madurai? How will you vote in the parliament (for or agianst the BJP?) What is your conscience telling you?

T Manivannan (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:51 IST)
Do you have any plan to control traffic.

Comman Man (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:51 IST)
Dr.Swamy please answer Lakshmi. She asked people to vote for you with a hope that you will support BJP. But your turnaround has left her shell-shocked. As I said before, the people's mandate was for Vajapayee to be the PM.

sathya (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:51 IST)
Dr.Swamy , Why is there a sudden change in your stance against jayalalitha..Is it that you are against any ruling government.

PaiNN (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:53 IST)
Dear Mr. Swamy, I notice that you are making every attempt to evade a question that is seeking to get a broader perspective of your character. I repeat my question. What do you think is your SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT contribution to India ? Come on,now, Laloo was'nt at Harvard and even he could answer that !!!

amalan (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:53 IST)
What are you guys doing firing questions to a person who hails from one of the world's finest business schools and is not able to keep a decent identity for himself in this nation. Take your questions elsewhere dudes.

Comman Man (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:53 IST)
sathya he didn't answer that question.

amalan (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:53 IST)
What are you guys doing firing questions to a person who hails from one of the world's finest business schools and is not able to keep a decent identity for himself in this nation. Take your questions elsewhere dudes.

T Manivannan (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:53 IST)
Do you have any plan to control traffic.

Goyal (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:53 IST)
Dear Mr Swamy, Please don't say "...and ask smart alec questions in the comfort of USA. ..". We had to come to USA because of politicians like you!!

Prabhu (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:54 IST)
People who have run away from India have done so because the lot of you won't allow us to live with your double standards on policies like secularism and "social justice". But we are more patriotic than you that we want to see India prosper unlike the lot of you who switch colours every day and fall at the feet of those who were bitterly attacked till yesterday and keep working for the slow destruction of the quality of life in the country.

akumar (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:54 IST)
Dr. Swamy>> "Atleast Laloo lives in India and has not run away to America" - do you think living in India and cuasing havoc and corrupting the public life is better than making a law-full life elsewhere? You must be kidding?

sathyam (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:55 IST)
Dr. Swamy, What is your idealistic view of government. i.e. what do you expect from a government from a Common man's point of view and a politician's point of view ?

T Manivannan (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:55 IST)
Good Luck Swamy. I am expecting some thing from you for Mdu. You should not be like AGS Ram Babu.

Comman Man (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:55 IST)
Dr.Swamy, please answer on the income tax issues. Rather than abolishing it, don't you think that tightening it on people in the bracket of Jayalalitha and Sonia Maino would help it boost up from 3% to 30% ?? Not to mention Laloo, P Chidambaram etc

Goyal (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:55 IST)
Nachiketa, Correction, Lack of knowledge leads to arrogance. Ever heard .. "bada hua to kya hua jaise paid ..."

Harvard (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:56 IST)
Dr. Swamy, I don't think even you could control the traffic/transportation problem. Its in the mentality of the people. enough of policies and planners, get the real engineers out there who don't use substandard asphalt, would you? Couldn't you arrange to turnover the construction of Madurai's infrastructure to Private firms?

Balaji V (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:56 IST)
Dr.Swamy, What makes you to always take a stand which invriably proves you to be more of a 'crook' than a professor of Economics?

Nachiketa (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:56 IST)
Dr. SS: Well, there is "knowledge" and knowledge that I have "excess knowledge". ;-))

anu (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:56 IST)
DR swamy, Besides not answering crucial questions, u are now insulting those of us who had the good sense to get away from politicans like you. I hope you get marginalized in politics and end up as a grade 4 teacher in an elementary school in Pakistan - they could use the likes of you. Over and out

JaiBJP (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:57 IST)
Swamy> Thats a pretty good proposition for developing countries like India. But why do you think developed countries like USA should ever do that? If you were the foreign affairs minister would you let all those people from underdeveloped foreign countries into our country in search of manual labor jobs???????

T Manivannan (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:57 IST)
Good Luck Swamy. I am expecting some thing from you for Mdu. You should not be like AGS Ram Babu.

amalan (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:58 IST)
How come S.S. knows much about the Bhagavad Gita. It talks about duty, leading a straight life etc.? Surprising. No one runs away to America ! remember. Times change. You will not see the same illiterate people to whom you can feed your crap!

Mohan P S K (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:58 IST)
Swamiji ... How does it feel now going hand in hand with Jayaji

sathyam (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:59 IST)
anu: You point of view of politics is wrong. You are an escapist. So , please do not try to justify your stance.

PaiNN (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:59 IST)
Folks, Please dont pursue the matter of leaving India for USA. As I see it, it is a calculated effort my Mr. Swamy to avoid having to answer uncomfortable questions.

T Manivannan (Mon Mar 23 1998 8:59 IST)
By default Mdu people are very good people. If you are doing good job to Mdu. Definetely you will be permenant MP from Madurai.

Harvard (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:0 IST)
Dr. Swamy, I am very saddened to see the state of Tanjore, the magnificent temple town (also my hometown) is such shambles touristically . Could you not pressurize the TN govt to do something in this respect ?

anu (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:0 IST)
Sathyam, If u can make a difference - Ill be there to help. Go ahead and try it

Comman Man (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:1 IST)
Dr.Swamy, Do you think people should elect the prime minister rather than MPs. That way the PM will have a free hand to organise the government and will be more responsible because the people directly elected him. As I had quoted before, the JURY system in Indian courts was abolished because of the fact that you can hold no one responsible in case o f a false judgement!! Another plus point will be that one-mp /two-mp parties cannot hold the country to ransom.

T Manivannan (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:1 IST)
By default Mdu people are very good people. If you are doing good job to Mdu. Definetely you will be permenant MP from Madurai.

PaiNN (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:1 IST)
Dear Mr. Swamy, How much money do you make in a month. I mean, even Subramaniam Swamy cant live on Love and Fresh Air of Scandal ! Where do you get the moolah from ?? And what kind of food do you like ??

JaiBJP (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:2 IST)
Guys, if not Mr.Swamy could you people enlighten me regarding which party he is supporting now. I'm confused by his criticisn towards my party!!

akumar (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:2 IST)
Dr.Swamy>> Mr.R.K Hegde is known to be the best chief minister the Karnataka state ever had. Why are you opposed to him? Does it have to do anything with personal politics rather than issues?

Prabhu (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:2 IST)
Dr Swamy : you betrayed TN people by falling at the feet of Jayalalitha, who was out to "kill" you (in your own words). Then you betrayed Jayalalitha by openly admitting that she had put the condition of making you as the FM (which she did not admit) . Now you are trying to betray your constituency people by threatening to topple BJP govt. (you think you are too good at toppling - pity is that you can only unmake and never make anything). I wish that BJP govt. is kind enough to send you as our Ambassador to Iraq. Go there and try toppling Saddam

Nachiketa (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:2 IST)
Dr SS: Your vote **does** matter for the simple fact that the members of LS decide as to who the PM is gonna be. The game of getting the votes of the janata is over. Till the next elections. Right now, it is only the vote of folks like you, our Lok Sabha MP's, that matters.

sathyam (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:2 IST)
Anu: Difference is in what you see and perceive in problem and not in what you think is the best possible way to escape the problem. Yes :Politics is corrupted but that is not a reason for you to escape India. You were being an oppurtunist. You wanted good education you got it and now when it is time to ditch you are here. Earning in thousands. Well , what is that you got to say..?

Comman Man (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:4 IST)
Dr.Swamy there are two possibilities. One BJP governemnt genuinely failing to deliver. Another, some one not letting them to deliver by constant bickering from someone inside the government. Don't you see the BJP delivering already? They are trying to move teh CBI back to home-ministry! No one, since Indira Gandhi tried to misues it, had conscience to do it. Every one from Deve GOwda to Narasimha Rao misued it.

PNA (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:4 IST)
Dr.Swamy>> I dont think we want to discuss the voting patterns. Instead why don;t you give your stance on various issues,,like how do you intend to vote etc.. You might have already answered some of the questions. but it might serve to consolidate answers and We can go from there....

PaiNN (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:4 IST)
I'm sorry for shouting: I think its a waste talking to this guy. He's got no guts to stand up and speak for himself. No use wasting online time on him. Folks at Rediff should get men with backbones next time.

akumar (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:5 IST)
Dr. Swamy>> Why is abolishing personal income tax such a good idea? For non-economic folks it does not sound logical?

swami (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:6 IST)
dr. swamy from dr. swami If I were in your constituency and wanted to vote for BJP, the only way I could do that was to vote for you. After getting elected as an agent for BJP, AIADMK and Janatha, if you don't properly exercise the mandate, is it not like an agent who accepts funds on behalf of the company he serves and scooting with all the money (sort of like some of our nri airline agents)?

raj (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:6 IST)
Dr: SS. Please make India strong economically and militarily.Give your unconditional support to BJP to achieve this.India can not afford any more the suicidal and destructive policies of Congress and UF. I hope you are broad minded enough to realize that the country must be made prosperous by sacrifising our own personal narrow interests. India is weak. Based on her past glory ,ethos and values , bring unity, strength and prosperity.Redeem the past glory and overcome the past 800 years slavish mentality. There should be no thinking on the basis of North and South or on the basis of language. Those are all artificial distinctions mainly created by politicians. India is one country in culture and languages, all derived from Sansktit.Again I request you to make India united and strong by doing positive whatever you can. Thanks.

Ramani (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:6 IST)
Dr. Swamy, Why are you always opposed to people in power? First you were against Jayalalitha when she was in power. Now you are with her and against Karunanidhi who is in power. Is it because you think you get fame when you oppose people in power??

Raghu (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:7 IST)
Nachiketa, >>Your vote **does** matter for >>the simple fac Though we didn't learn anything new from Dr. SS, I hope atleast Dr. SS has learnt something about how our democracy actually works (or should work?).

JaiBJP (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:8 IST)
Guys> Everybody is being tough on Mr.Swamy. But he is a classic example of the proposition "Literacy and Education solves nothing". On the other hand I may be wrong. If the folks were literate and educated they would have definitely seen through Dr.Swamy's machinations and would not have voted to him.

Comman Man (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:9 IST)
Dr.Swamy, My request to you is the same as RAJ. Please concentrate on improving India rather than taking out personal problems. This trend you are starting by saying that "BJP is a north Indian Party" is a dangerous one and the people of TAMIL NADU will never forgive you if this gives rise to further ethnic conflicts in the region. Already Karunanidhi has turned the state into a Bomb paradise by supporting extremists

Goyal (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:9 IST)
Mr Swamy, our contry is facing so many problems. Corruption is perhaps the root cause. However, corruption becomes attractive because of economic disparities. After reading your views on free labor market and other socio economic issues, will it not be better that you concentrate on furthering your ideas rather than indulging in politics?

akumar (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:10 IST)
Nachiketa>> "" Dr SS: Your vote **does** matter for the "" - not any more! His one vote is good for nothing with the current equation in the Loksabha!!

Harvard (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:10 IST)
Dr. Swamy, I strongly feel you should apply your Harvard nurtured acumen in developing a constituency such as Madurai and leave National politics where logic and rationale are orthogonal to the system of thinking and working

PNA (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:10 IST)
JaiBJP>> This not even half as tought as what went on with VP Singh...But people wanted to vote for BJP. Since there was a tie-up with AIADMK + Dr.Swamy they voted for him..

T Manivannan (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:12 IST)
Are you going to take any initiative for centralised bus stand? I hope one bus stand is coming near mattuthavani....

amalan (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:12 IST)
Remember Dr.Swamy! this first guy who WAS interested in JJ and her wardrobe was YOU and not anyone else. Stop blaming others first.

akumar (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:13 IST)
All>> I am sure, our country men will appreciate Dr. Swamy's issue-based support. However, if he fails to deliver on that promise, it is not likely to make much difference.

amalan (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:13 IST)
Hey Manivanna! JaiBJP! dont forget to ask whether a tea shop will come up at the corner of your street with a cobblestone wall to scratch ur backs! dont u guys questions to ask. Read the papers.

Harvard (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:14 IST)
Dr. Swamy what is your stance on the 69 oc reservation bogey that Jayalalitha has raised ?

karthik subbiah (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:14 IST)
Dr. Swamy, but while on her campaign trail, she had repeatedly asked the gathering, I am quoting here, " Naan enna thavaru seidhen?", What mistake did I do? Dr. Swamy, do you think that she has learnt any lessons at all?

sathyam (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:15 IST)
JaiBJP and Manivanna are the guys who ask what is for us from government and not what is to the government.. To hell with them

amalan (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:15 IST)
Dr.S.S. A bus stand railing in Madurai is rusted. Will you please pressurize the TN government and rust proof the railing or bring down the DMK government as JJ would only be the HONEST politician who can do this and also confer honors upon you?

JaiBJP (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:16 IST)
Dr Swamy> Thank you getting onto the net. You have done a great service to all the people here by letting out their ire against you. I'm sure it would have reduced a few hearburns. Our blood boiled when you were holding the country to a ransom. I pray that you see some sense in near future and take sanyas from politics and do the country so much good. God bless you!!

Comman Man (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:17 IST)
Dr.Swamy, with this statement you said "The BJP is a north Indian party. They can never be fair to Tamils", you are starting a very dangerous trend. The people in the street may be please to hear that, but let me assure you neither the people of India nor the people of TAMIL NADU will ever forgive you if this lead to more ethnic conflicts in the state. Already Mr.Karunanidhi has made it into BOMB PARADISE in a very short period.

akumar (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:17 IST)
Dr.Swamy>> Will you consider being a High COmmisioner to Pakistan?

jj (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:17 IST)
Dr. Swamy, when do you plan to retire from politics..? Atleast then I can hope TN and INDIA will dream to progress ahead..!!!

PNA (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:17 IST)
Dr.Swamy>> then answer my prev. question.

Nachiketa (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:18 IST)
AKumar: Now that is a "non-pedantic", specific question, which in "not tainted by RSS propoganda"?

JaiBJP (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:18 IST)
Sathyam and Amalan> I wish I could understand you two.

karthik subbiah (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:18 IST)
Friends, let us make this a productive and fruitful talk as we talking to someone who is an educated and intelligent political leader, which is a rareity in our political firmament. Even if we different standpoints, let us express them with respect. Please would you all heed to this.

T Manivannan (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:19 IST)
Good Luck Swamy. Bye for now.

T Manivannan (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:19 IST)
Good Luck Swamy. Bye for now.

Comman Man (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:19 IST)
Dr. Swamy, now you've been cornered that you can't bash up BJP anymore, so you're now trying to bash up RSS in that name. Please keep one thing in mind Dr.Swamy, we are all educated indians and not the kind of crowd who attends your election speeches. Don't try to fool us with your "North Indian/South Indian" or your "RSS" Propaganda

Harvard (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:19 IST)
Sathyam and amalan: I think ur both wrong in attacking Jai and Manivannan. They have to ask what they have to ask. If every MP is forced to work for his constituency and not "worry" about national problems as almost everydone does as we know to our collective disadvantage, India would be definitely be a better place. Dr. Swamy should be more responsible for Madurai. Collective individaul interests is national interest

amalan (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:21 IST)
Hmm JAIBJP! I understand how youre feeling. Looking at the questions youre asking and the unfailing loyalty you have to S.S, its going to take you a long long time to understand in fact anyone. But on a serious note, I am always happy for the fact that BJP was and will be the only part y that strongly spoke against the bad muslims without worrying about their vote bank. that is commendable. But, will you stop asking questions of this nature and direct those which might help him to touch his conscience and prevent himself from making an a@#$ of himself.

Comman Man (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:22 IST)
Dr.Swamy, that's where you are wrong. You hobnobbed with Jayalalitha only because by virtue of the BJP wave you would also benefit in Madurai. Don't give that "People of Tamil Nadu voted for us" dialogue. Now that you're an MP you want to thow your weight around and want to bargain for your POUND OF FLESH!

Lax (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:22 IST)
Dr SS, I do not know how you drag RSS into everything, even into Rediff chat! Anyway, if not for this forum, atleast for your voters' sake, do spell out your agenda for India, as the "shadow" FM. Yashwant Sinha can always pick up good things from you, if your ideas are genuine.

Anshul (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:23 IST)
Dear Mr. Subramanium Swami, I am gooing to ask a direct question : Will you or won't you vote with the BJP in the coming majority vote???

amalan (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:23 IST)
Harvard! it takes a person of not only raw courage, but some straight thinking and sanity to be able to do anything good. Such persons are doing a great service to the nation by keeping their traps shut.

JaiBJP (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:23 IST)
amalan> I think you got me wrong some where down the line. Infact I thought I was getting a bit too harsh on Dr.Swamy!! Even though we need his vote I was strongly criticizing his ideology and policies.

Goyal (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:24 IST)
Mr Swamy, why our politicians, you included do not oppose corruption and are always willing to share power with corrupt?

Harvard (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:24 IST)
amalan: I don't understand you

PNA (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:24 IST)
Dr Swamy>> I think in every election the vote always goes to the best of the worst and not the best of the best. People also vote on basis of emotion. That cannot be denied. This is not synthetic outrage but something that YOU need to explain. Do you mean to say that you don't need to explain your stance? You might have won this election but you might lose the next one. I am sure you understand that.

Comman Man (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:24 IST)
Lax and other people, Dr.Swamy thinks we are like the crowd which attend the election rallies. That's why he is trying to pull out the Tamil sentiments. and the ANTI-BJP and RSS dialogues. He doesn't know that we cannot be fooled by this.

Ramani (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:25 IST)
Thanks for answering my question!! Then why dont you stand all on your own instead of counting on Jaya or Karunanidhi?? My worry is that you lose your value by aligning with these people$$

amalan (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:26 IST)
Harvard ! I was referring to S.S. which part of it dont you understand

Jack (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:26 IST)
What is your plans to improve Madurai ? Do you have any problems with local AIADMK politics in Madurai?

JaiBJP (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:26 IST)
Dr. Swamy> One final question. Do you think Jayalalitha indulged in very corrupt practices during her regime and she needs to be punished by courts or not? Don't leave it to the courts..but please give your opinion. Try being honest for alteast once.

PNA (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:26 IST)
Dr.Swamy>> do you think the DMK govt should be dismissed.???

Harvard (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:27 IST)
Dr. Swamy, thank for answering <1% of my questions. I wish you luck in your endeavour to develop Madurai and TN. Signing off

Harvard (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:27 IST)
Dr. Swamy, thank for answering <1% of my questions. I wish you luck in your endeavour to develop Madurai and TN. Signing off

PNA (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:27 IST)
JaiBJP>> I have asked that question. but still no answer. Good luck...:-))

Harvard (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:27 IST)
amalan:the whole bit

Comman Man (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:28 IST)
Dr.Swamy, let me assure you the people of Tamil Nadu didn't vote for you or Jayalalitha. It was the mandate for making Vajapayee as the prime minister. You very well know that and that is why you suddenly changed your stand on Jayalalitha from a 'WITCH' to a 'MOST SENSIBLE PERSON'. I as a Tamil Brahmin can assure you that even **we** didn't vote for you . We voted you only because you were in the BJP alliance.

Gopala (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:28 IST)
Dr. Swamy : You are clearly against the BJP govt. currently at the center. Now who do you expect to form the Govt. that you will be able to support with you heart??

Ramani (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:29 IST)
Hi common man that is the problem with Indian election system. It should be like the one in US where you vote for one person and there is no middle man. All these people in the name of respresenting people have cheated us all these days.

Comman Man (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:30 IST)
Speaking of transparency Dr.Swamy, will you oppose or support the LOK-PAL bill mooted by BJP??

JaiBJP (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:30 IST)
Thanks Dr.Swamy. Have a good day/night.

JaiBJP (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:31 IST)
I guess I was too greedy to expect honesty from a politican like you.

Comman Man (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:31 IST)
Exactly Ramani, if we had US like election system, then there could be no way a one-mp party or two-mp party can hold the whole country to RANSOM !

Sandeep (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:32 IST)
I wonder if after so many flip-flops over the last several years, how do you still expect people to take you seriously. I have always wondered what is the source of your arrogance. Do you think you are too smart, or that the people are idiots ??

Ramani (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:32 IST)
Dr. swamy, We voted for you thinking that you would extend support to BJP(that is what you said in your election campaign). But now you want to vote according to your conscience(which means you want to oppose BJP). Are you not betraying the very people who voted for you?? Are you not giving place to personal ambitions before public life??

Comman Man (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:34 IST)
Dr.Swmay, ASSURE me you won't pull down the government in the wake of Shard Pawar or Surjeet offering finance portfolio or any personla reasons, I will pack immediately and start a new VENTURE OUT THERE !!!

Jack (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:34 IST)
What is your plans to improve Madurai ? Do you have any problems with local AIADMK politics in Madurai?

PNA (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:34 IST)
Dr.Swamy>> Inspite of being educated you have proved that you are no different from the common politician in TN. Good luck...

Goyal (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:34 IST)
Good luck Mr Swamy, Please do a self analysis. You are a good economist. Please stay that way. You are a bad politician. Please don't remain that way. Thanks and bye.

Comman Man (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:35 IST)
Dr.Swamy, please don't think that RSS has brainwashes any one. I am a Tamil Brahmin and have never met any RSS person in my life. I hope you resort to cleaner politics and concentrate on nation building as an INDIAN and not as a TAMIL NADU PERSON

Ramani (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:38 IST)
Dr.swamy, I am always willing to come back and do the best for my nation. But when i think that a highly educated person like you unable to deliver good to the people and become another cheap politician, I prefer staying here and observe the fun going on there.

Comman Man (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:38 IST)
PLEASE DR.SWAMY WE IMPLORE YOU NOT TO ROCK THE GOVERNMENT UNNECCESSARILY and concentrate on cleaning up whole of INDIA not just MADURAI. The BJP has some excellent programs in its agenda which so far all oppurtunistic politicians have been ignoring. Like moving CBI to home ministry and LOK PAL BILL ! AND greater autonomy to states

Nithi (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:40 IST)
Nobody can beat you when a good example for an INDIAN POLITICIAN has to be given. Inspite of that everyone had sidelined you. Why it is?

Comman Man (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:42 IST)
Hey guys, His arrogance is too much. He thinks no one can tell him anything. Even the people who voted him to power. Sadly, this is the state of Indian democracy. The elected representitive should listen to people and implement what they say. Here rather he thinks he has been coronated.

Manivannan (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:44 IST)
Is swamy there?

Ramani (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:47 IST)
Dr. Swamy, I had always voted for ADMK when MGR was alive. Then I voted only once for Jaya assuming that she would be like MGR. But her arrogance and the way she functioned made me think otherwise. Then I looked for some party that we can trust. DMK is a party which is hopeless and which does not respect brahmins. So I am always against even THINKING about voting for DMK. So i thought this time it shoud be BJP and voted for BJP. Fortunately, BJP has got a chance to rule and we should give them time and see whether they are good or bad. YOU MUST NOT VOTE IT OUT OF POWER JUST BCOS YOU ARE NOT GIVEN CABINET POST.

RajBhatnagar (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:48 IST)
Dr. Swami, Shouldn't the ideology and party be bigger than individual ambition? Please comment.

Ramani (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:51 IST)
Dr Swamy!! Are you there??

Mumbo Dumbo (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:54 IST)
Hi Dr Sawmy!

Mumbo Dumbo (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:56 IST)
Looks like swamy vanished, I guess it levitation!!!!

An irritated Indian (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:56 IST)
Since there were lots of uncertainty and corruptions in the national level politics, I used to think that we need a strong and braveman like hitler to rule India. I used to think Dr.Swamy may take that place. I used to admire Seshan. I thought someone like these guys should take the power. I used to think Dr.Swamy will do that one day. But you turned upside down suddenly by supporting the corrupted "Bad Amma" which made me to feel that you are also another silly politician who changes colors everyday. But I could not belive myself that a high-educated experienced person can not do such things without a meaning. WILL YOU PLEASE GIVE ME A LOGICAL REASON FOR THE SEQUENCES OF ACTIONS YOU HAVE DONE IN THE PAST 4 YEARS?

Mumbo Dumbo (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:57 IST)
Lets all sing JAYA HO JAYA Ho JAYA JAYA HO !!!

govinda (Mon Mar 23 1998 9:58 IST)
Mr Swami. It is a pleasure to talk to you. What do you think of your ex. Jana ta arty national president Mr. Chandrasekar

Praja (Mon Mar 23 1998 10:0 IST)
I don't think any other politician has been as much bashed up. So much for the love for his politics. Anyone who questions his antics are RSS influenced. If he was given the FM, perhaps he would have sung praises for BJP and even RSS! A hypocrite and a wounded one at that!

Ramani (Mon Mar 23 1998 10:0 IST)
Hey friends! I think Swamy has vanished. If people start questioning politicians like these, and if politicians are made accountable to the people for their actions and if people stop listening to politicians blindly then Ugly politicians will vanish and we can clean our political system by doing away with criminals entering politics. This is only a general statement and not pointing to Dr. Swamy. All these are in the hands of the people only. Unless people revolt together, We are going to see many more hung parliaments and many more politicians who weigh their personal interest heavier than national cause.

Mumbo Dumbo (Mon Mar 23 1998 10:0 IST)
Swamy man of many words, few deeds, at a loss for words?

kolli (Mon Mar 23 1998 10:0 IST)
Dr.Swami,

Praja (Mon Mar 23 1998 10:2 IST)
It is not enough if he vanishes from our "net". It will be better if he vanishes from the political scene of India. We have had enough of such clowns and this one is a dangerous in as much as he is a CIA agent!

Mumbo Dumbo (Mon Mar 23 1998 10:3 IST)
Freinds I am Starting a swamy bhajan samaj, do you think this will fly?

Subramanian (Mon Mar 23 1998 10:3 IST)
Dr.Swamy, What kind of morals you have? You were so instrumental in pulling Ms.Jaya. Alas! You have joined hands with the very same person against whom you were so deadly. By that action, you had lost all the high esteem and respects of the educated clan. Please do not tell me that evil can me fought only thro' association with evil forces. What I could perceive was that you gave more importance to your economical condition and thus willing to compromise the deadliest sin.You have the makings of a great Prime Minister, but ,I am worried that you will not go that far if you compromise on the very basic principles. Please try to be reasonable Good Luck!

Mumbo Dumbo (Mon Mar 23 1998 10:5 IST)
Swamy Is it true you are starting a mutual fund in association with Jaya?

An irritated Indian (Mon Mar 23 1998 10:10 IST)

Would you have towed Manmohan singh's line if you were made the finance minister

Ramani (Mon Mar 23 1998 10:16 IST)
Has the chat Ended?? See what kind of politician we have. A person who is not courteous enough to say "Good Bye". Same thing happens in the election also. We vote a person to become MP/MLA. After elections, he/she does not even bother to visit his/her constituency. Thereafter he/she involves in self aggrandizement. Basically, all these people use politics as BUSINESS in the name of service and not as SERVICE as such.

Mumbo Dumbo (Mon Mar 23 1998 10:17 IST)
Manmohan is for strong Lira, where as Swamy is for a basket of Currencies!!!

baig (Mon Mar 23 1998 10:19 IST)
your answer sounds as confused and irrelevant as you normally do

rajendra (Mon Mar 23 1998 10:21 IST)
I am following Indian politics from past 15 years. The worst guy in the indian politics is Mr. Swamy. The first person to be shot in Indian Politicans should be Swamy. He is a shameless guy in India. One day he opposes Jayalalitha in bitter way and other day he supports her. He is the guy who is an educated fool. I hope Tamil people will teach him a lesson if they want to prosper.

Mumbo Dumbo (Mon Mar 23 1998 10:23 IST)
Ok let me get to the Economics 101, Lira is the Italian currency That where Manmohan is heading, Swamy is a loyal Bakhta of Jaya, any currency that fills th Basket her coffer is fine,... any questions?

baig (Mon Mar 23 1998 10:23 IST)
Your answer sounds as confused and irrelevant as you normally do. Is it due to habit or your basic characteristic ?

Mumbo Dumbo (Mon Mar 23 1998 10:24 IST)
Sir Baig, Incedentally neither is for India, not very uncommon trait in our politicians?

baig (Mon Mar 23 1998 10:26 IST)
I thought you would make an interesting conversationist. How much more boring can you be???

Mumbo Dumbo (Mon Mar 23 1998 10:26 IST)

Mumbo Dumbo (Mon Mar 23 1998 10:31 IST)

Why you do not want a stable government in India

Rajnikanth (Mon Mar 23 1998 10:56 IST)
Dr Swami: Please resign your post as MP because you did not get it thru' your influence . You got it only thru' association with evil forces . (Jayalalitha in Particular) . I want to tell you only one thing. If you want to become a decent politician better quit jaya else "Ungalai andha andavanalum kapatha mudiyathu (Even God cannot save you) . Hoping to see you as a decent politiciana and not a power hungry politiican.

Rajnikanth (Mon Mar 23 1998 11:1 IST)
I beleive that Swami has stopped replying because "TRUTH", HONESTY and INTEGRITY which a politician should have to be in the heart of people is not there with him. He cannot answer our questions because he wanted to become MP and if possible Finance minister ( GOD's grace that we are spared ) thru hook and crook. He cannot face the people face to face.

Swamy's last statement - "Nice communicating with all of you. If you areso deeply interested in India pack up your bags and come here and CLEAN UP the place. Lets see you can do a better job than me. To the neutral questioners thank you very much and to those brainwashed by the RSS I hope you are liberated soon. Thank You " CLEAN UP was in small letters. To give importance I have put them in CAPS. So swamy has agreed that he has spoiled our political systems so as to invite us to clean it up.

rajesh badam (Mon Mar 23 1998 12:17 IST)
Mr Swamy, If you are having real potential doing the ministry, then automatically people give you a channce. what is your comment!
