Hi, I can't believe that I'm really chatting with u.. Anyways,I've 1000 questions... so lemme begin with this one/ U said that u try to add instruments by instruments in composing a song.. So how does it feel for u in the middle, when nothing is clear.. How could u decide which instrument to use at a particular place etc.., I don't know how u do it, but u've done it with amazing 'refreshiality', if I could coin such a phrase!! U're really the master!! PS: Also, when I come to Madras next, can I be with u when U're working on a project!! This has been my dream!! I've told everyone I know about this!! U're the master, Rahman!! Bless us with more songs in the years to come!!!

Hi ARR, I would like to congratulate you on all your songs. They are refreshing and cool. I also appreciate your skill in popularizing folk tunes in a novel way. I am sure you know there are lot of expectations from you. Some of your tunes seem repititive or sound like old songs (old wine in new bottle). , which is disappointing. Is it because of expectations or is it due to increased quantity of tunes you need to come up with.

ARR tell me do you think the modern day trend where music is composed and planned with the visual accompaniement has improved or damaged the quality of music? I mean we must remeber most of the time music has to be heard without the visual accompaniment( though it stays in the memory). Will music ever be written again in the old manner without the video part?

When it comes to choosing Tala, how do you do it? In Kannodu, the Tala beauty comes form the Eduppu, the Abheri ragam, Jathis and Katpana Swaras.....How did you envision this. WHat did you think of Shankar's picturisation? What inspired your choice of THAVIL? Did you sample the Thavil, for the Rolling beats? For Kayil Mithakkum Kanavaa Nee....from Ratchagan, you chose Kanda Chaapu and Saraswathi....excellent choice...did you fit the words to the song or vice versa?

do u think that the usage of synthesized sound makes a song seem less creativity. for example with systhesized beats, other artist are prone or could have used the same beats. in this case listeners may mistake or think that the whole song was copied. Like the rythm in telephone manipol from Indian (many of my friends in the US commented that the song sound like "i saw the sing" from ace of base, even though the tune was different)

Mr.Rahman, do u think that the usage of synthesized sound makes a song seem less creativity. for example with systhesized beats, other artist are prone or could have used the same beats. in this case listeners may mistake or think that the whole song was copied. Like the rythm in telephone manipol from Indian (many of my friends in the US commented that the song sounds like "i saw the sign" from ace of base, even though the tune was different)

No Das! ARR did not compose. in Madrass DD there sis a children's programme called Wonder Baloon. ARR with few other instrumentalist (way back in 83) played that song in instrumental. ARR played that song in keyboard. one fanstatic drummer played Ilamay idho idho in Drums. i was just confirming this to ARR
