World's biggest producers of gold

China became the world's largest producer of gold for the sixth straight year even as it remained the second largest consumer of the yellow metal after India.
A total of 171,300 tonnes of gold have been mined in human history, according to GFMS as of 2011.
The world consumption of new gold produced is about 50% in jewellery, 40% in investments, and 10% in industry.
