The carrier has been on a promotional and discounted fare spree since January, when it slashed ticket prices by up to 50 per cent immediately after the lean travel season had set in.

Recently, IndiGo, too, announced promotional fares for just Re 1 on the Bengaluru, Chennai and Goa routes, taking on the competition from AirAsia India's offer of Rs 5 fare (excluding airport tax and other applicable fees) offer and putting on sale over 15,000 promotional seats.
