Ratan Naval Tata, chairman of the Tata Group of companies recently added another feather to his crown.

The New-York based Reputation Institute named him among the top ten most reputed people on earth.

The list is headed by South Africa's Nelson Mandela (RepTrak pulse 78.5), while tennis champion, Roger Federer (RepTrak pulse 72.1) was 2nd on the 2011 Leader RepTrak.

Reputation Institute created a list of 54 of the world's most visible leaders and public personalities in politics, business, culture, and sports.

Their reputation was measured on a 0-100 point scale based on four attributes - the degree to which a person is liked, respected, admired, and trusted.

Let's take a look at the businessmen who feature in the list.

Ratan Tata

Rank: 9
RepTrak pulse: 66.3

Ratan Tata's net worth is $970 million. He does not figure in any 'rich list' because a large number of the shares (around 65.8%) of Tata Sons, the holding company of the Tata Group, is held by charitable trusts.

Tata is set to retire in December, 2012.
