Boeing Dreamliner 787 from the US and Sukhoi Superjet 100 from Russia will be among the top attractions at the three-day long India Aviation 2012, the civil aviation conference and exhibition starting in Hyderabad from March 14.

All eyes will be on the Boeing 787 as it will land in the city on Wednesday morning marking its debut on the Indian soil.

Air India, which has ordered 27 such aircraft will start the process of its induction into its fleet only after the aircraft is put on display at the Begumpet Airport, the venue for country's biggest civil aviation show.

"Most of the manufacturers were vying to sell their aircrafts in India because they know it was only in India, apart from a few other countries that business was taking place," said Lt Col Vivek Kodikal, regional director of FICCI.

While Sukhoi Superjet has the capability to operate up to 4,500 kms with 75 to 95 passengers, the MS-21 with 150 to 220 seats can give tough competition to others in the same class by reducing the operating costs by 10 per cent.

Massive arrangements have been made on the Begumpet Airport for the event, which include 20,000 square meters of exhibition area for the 250 exhibitors and 18 hospitality chalets for business discussions.

The event was likely to attract 8,000 business visitors and 20,000 local people.
