Well, to put the record straight, India's richest man, chairman of Reliance Industries Mukesh Ambani is not among the top 10 earners. Ambani's salary for the past three years stands at 15 crore (Rs 150 million) a year.

1. Naveen Jindal
Salary: Rs 67.21 crore (Rs 672.1 million)


Naveen Jindal remains the highest paid corporate head in India for the second consecutive year.

Jindal's salary fell by 3.66 per cent in 2010-2011.

Executive vice chairman & managing director of Jindal Steel & Power, Naveen Jindal is also a member of the Parliament (MP).

2. Kalanidhi Maran
Salary: Rs 64.40 crore (Rs 644 million)

Kalanithi Maran is the chairman and managing director of Sun TV Network Limited and SpiceJet. Kalanidhi Maran's salary rose by 73.68 per cent.

Maran is the son of the late DMK leader and former Union minister Murasoli Maran, the grandnephew of DMK president M Karunanidhi.
