Income Tax officials raid diamond traders in Mumbai, Surat

Income Tax officials on Thursday simultaneously carried out searches in the homes and offices of leading diamond traders in Mumbai, Kolkata, Jaipur and Surat.

In Mumbai, office of diamond traders in Opera House, Panchratna Building and Prasad Chambers were raided.

According to reports, these diamond traders were producing fake purchase and sale billing receipts and also availing multiple loans on one consignment.

Initially fifty spots were covered and then the I-T department took it a step further and has covered another 50 more spots on Thursday.
