Inflation is one of the biggest challenges facing India. With prices rising to all time highs, there seems to be little respite for the common man.

From 1969 to 2010, the average inflation rate in India was 7.99 per cent hitting a historical high of 34.68 percent in September of 1974 and a record low of -11.31 percent in May 1976.
