Mercedes Benz India launched the G-Wagen or the Gelandewagen in India on Valentine's Day. The country would be getting the top model in the G-Class - the G 55 AMG.

The car is powered by a supercharged 5.5-litre V8-engine developing 373 kW/507 hp and a maximum torque of 700 newton metres (Nm).

The G 55 AMG breaks the 100 km/h mark in 5.5 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 210 km/h.

Features like Electronic Stability Program (ESP) and Hill Start Assist help make the G 55 AMG an easy to handle and comfortable to drive car.

It comes with a permanent all-wheel drive with three locking differentials, a 5-speed automatic transmission and high performance ventilated disc brakes.

The G55 AMG will be imported as a completely built unit (CBU) and will cost a whopping Rs 1.1 crore (Rs 11 million).
